MacKenzie turns 5 next month.  She has always loved bugs, the bigger, the better.  Her great nephew, Guinness, aka the "wild one", loves them too.  They often head out the dog door in the middle of the night, hunting.  Our back yard now looks like a mine field.  I wasn't sure who to blame until this morning, when our dog sitter told me that when she stayed over Thanksgiving, they found Guinness digging like a fiend.  He discovered grubs.  He thought he'd share them and brought them in the kitchen.  I will contact our landscape team to treat the grubs, but am now worried.  Is eating grubs harmful to bassets?  I'm hoping that they are just some sort of drug that causes otherwise adorable bassets to misbehave.
