There were big displays on our cul de sac this year , the first in the three years plus we have lived here. Neighbors at both ends of the block got together with folks across the street from them and cut loose with enough pyrotechnics to fuel a Latin American coup.
In front of our house, there was a gathering of neighbors with a couple of big boxes of ([probably illegal) fireworks, some of which I had provided to the teenager across the street for cleaning up my yard after the last big windstorm. It was a magnificent assembly
of folks that don't normally get together and the fireworks lasted about an hour.

Miss Angela did not want to go outside to join the festivities, even though a golden from next door was perfectly fine with it. Angie seemed relieved when I came into the house, but did not make any noise or react significantly to the booms and crackles. When I sat down in the recliner, she hopped up to make sure that I was not too freaked out by the noise, but she didn't shake or whimper.
This is pretty much her attitude during thunderboomers as well. Unless things are pretty intense, she will stretch out on her couch(leather of course and well licked) and snooze. In general, she is just a pretty laid back old girl.

Bill (still a few minor explosives left)
Angela (wake me when it's over. Then feed me)
