I'm a bit behind, but thought I would add my experience with Previcox.
Tucker, who will be 15 in Sept, was so sore and miserable last year at this
time, I had made up my mind that there was nothing we could do.He didn't
even want to be touched. I spoke with my vet to make the final appt and she
suggested I try the Previcox. Picked up several tabs from the office. She
gave me the 227mg size and said to cut them in half. As you found out,
after the 1st dose, within 3hrs he was a new dog. I was shocked, but
thrilled.

Naturally I wanted to continue and I searched on line for a supplier.
Settled on Valley Vet in KS (had used them before for horse items) and
found the best price. If your vet agrees, VV will fax the script to the
vet's office, the vet signs and faxes back and VV will then ship.

Tucker was on the 1/2 pill for about 6 months and I asked the vet if I
could give him 1/2 every other day. She said to just cut the whole pill
into quarters and give one a day. That meant my order for 30 pills became
120 doses instead of 60. It's been well worth it. He gets his 1/4 in a
piece of cheese every day and does very well. At his age each day is a
bonus. He has other health issues but the Previcox makes it possible for
him to "romp" to his feed dish every aft. He can go down steps, a few at a
time. He sleeps well so he must be comfortable.

I will keep him on Previcox until another health issue becomes too much to
handle. I hope this helps with Romeo. Forgot to mention that T weighs over
70 lbs., that may figure into your choices. Good luck with him however it
goes.

Good thoughts and whatever drool T can muster to all.

Judi
Tucker - if you give me more cheese I will make more drool. Promise.
