Jenny...when that happened to my Sammy, it turned out to be a spinal  
problem.  We took him to a neurosurgeon and he x-rayed him, and then  operated.  
Sam is fine now...this was over a year ago...it took about 2 1/2  months to 
heal.  He is not permitted to jump now, but seems to be aware of  that and 
he doesn't try.
 
Please let me know how Charley does... If he does get up on things, try to  
prevent that...
