Help needed here.

Max is my sister's heart dog, and there is a 99.99% chance he has lymphoma.
Last Tues., all the dogs went to the Vet for their monthly visits, pedicures and anals. That night, my sister, Donna, left for four days for her job. During her away time, Max had loose stools which I thought was due to stress from both the Vet visit and Donna's leaving. I treated with metronidazole and pepcid ac, but the diarrhea persisted. I almost brought him in to the Vet on Friday, but then he started to perk up a little.
When Donna got home Sat., I didn't notice anymore diarrhea, and I thought he was OK. On Sunday night, Donna thought she felt an unusual abdominal mass, and we pondered a Vet visit for Monday am.
Well, since the diarrhea was back on Monday am, I booked an app't for Max when I brought Nikki in for her echocardiogram. Nikki will be rechecked in 9 months, does not need medication, so she is OK for now.
Max, on the other, had was immediately diagnosed with enlarged lymph nodes in the neck and abdominal area. The x-ray revealed an enlarged spleen, so since the mobile specialist was there, Max got aspirated and an ultra sound. Turns out his spleen is huge as well as the abdominal lymph nodes.
He is 8 yrs. old and a rescue dog.
Options for treatment are the following:1. 8 weeks on once a week chemo followed by 8 weeks of once every other week chemo. This is vet recommended, but Donna had a hard time with her chemo, so she doesn't to do that to Max. The Vet said chemo for dogs is not as bad as for humans, and it could give Max a year.
2. High doses of pred with chinese herbs. Could give Max two months.
3. Chinese herbs 1-2 months.
Also, Max is anemic.

If anyone wishes to email me privately about this, I would be grateful. Needless to say, it is a sad day here today.
Thanks drool family,
You are the best.
Healing drool to all in need,
Jackie and the gang
