My mom had this down.    She was very silly and pretty loud if a dog went potty outside she would shout and dance and prance and give ALL the dogs a handful of cookies.   IF they went inside she would silently clean it up with an enzyme cleaner like natures miracle.   If she cAught the dog in the act inside she would make a loud noise and then get the dig outside.  If the dog was able o finish outside everyone did the cookie dance

My mom did it with labs but it works with bassets.   At least it worked on the 4 bassets i tried it on
