[Dailydrool] almost the end

Must not fall asleep, must not dream. XB must be so disappointed in me. We haven’t raised as much as we should have with the Two Old Queens Woofle.sure hope she doesn’t wack me with that hammer again.Oh no, can’t stay awake… Oh, my-I’m back inside the castle. Wow! The party is still in full swing. of jazz, though, the band is playing all 50’s music. So many hounds on the dance floor and the buffets set up around the room. I recognize so many of them. The sound of music and laughter combined with the bright colors of the costumes assaults my senses and I’m a little dizzy. Wait-what’s that? Why would there be a sign with my name on it? I walk toward the sign and realize there is an arrow pointing down a long hallway. I follow the sign to the next sign and continue.  The castle seems to go on forever. Finally I come to a golden doorway that is roped off. Look-it has my name on it. I don’t understand. “Huggie Bear”. I turn and there she is. She’s dressed in a beautiful blue satin poodle skirt and blouse with saddle shoes. “I see you’re confused-we’re having a 50’s theme night tonight.” “That’s not all I’m confused about. Why is my name on this door?” Xandy Bear laughs and says,” Silly. This hallway is part of Blueberry’s and my quarters and someday, far in the future when you are ready, these will be your rooms.” “XB, I’m sorry. I feel like we failed you with our Woofle.” “Shhhhh. I’m very proud of you for trying. I know how hard it is to beg for moolah for the hounds.”  “Xandy Bear I miss you so much. We were together from when we were puppies. Sometimes I just feel lost without you.” “I know, I miss you too but your work isn’t done and think how sad the blondeslave would be without you.” Xandy Bear reaches forward with her paw and places it over Huggie’s heart.  Huggie Bear feels something not unlike a mild electric shock. “Huggie Bear, I will always be here with you in your heart. Oh, and I have a message for Duke Elvis who is messing with his slave yet again. Tell that old coot to not be in any rush to get here. Blueberry and I are still working with the contractors to build his wing of the castle.” “Wait a minute. Elvis gets a whole wing and I just get rooms?” Xandy Bear laughs and says, “ Darling, you I want to keep close. Elvis, I want to keep occupied.” Huggie Bear’s eyes well with tears and she reaches out to hug Xandy Bear. Suddenly she’s back in her own yard arms empty.  She looks up at the night sky and sees a shooting star. The tears roll down her cheeks and she smiles before turning and going into the house.
