[Dailydrool] Calender Girls of 28 May

The two girls featured for 28 May are Klara and Sally, doing their favourite thing : Spending time on soft, cozy beds in front of a log fire in the middle of winter.

Klara passed away on 14 February this year due to widespread cancer in her lungs and spleen. She was one of the grande old dames of the bassetdom. Up to the 13th she refused to be left alone and insisted on doing her walkies at night, even if it required a substantial effort from her. The last night was almost pathetic. We miss her very much.

Sally is about nine years old. After Klara's death she used to wait at a given point along the route every night where she always waited for her. She is a gentle hound who likes nothing better than to snuggle up to her favourite person in bed at night. On the other hand, she has a sense of smell that is close to unbelievable. Hopefully she'll feature again next year.
