The other day Nigel started head shaking. He's a Basset so I got out the
Basset ear cleaner and cleaned some ears, and his were dirty but not
terrible but he did stop head shaking. And then Conley started
Who has terrible ears.
So I did Conley's ears.
And that night I heard terrible noises from Doc's crate and when I turned
the light on he was half-standing shaking his head.
Oh for god's sake I have NEVER had a Belgian with nasty ears.
But I got the stuff out and cleaned his ears which were not even dirty, and
he went back to bed
And the next day he starting scratching that left ear.
So I looked, and nothing.
I put some cortisone salve on it anyway and he was fine.

So tonight I am petting his head and there's a lump. Right there by his
left ear. And I look and it has a little tiny set of fang marks!! D***it,
it's a SPIDER BITE!! All that crazy goings on in his crate the other
night---he got bitten by a spider! One of the wolf spiders, probably, the
only thing big enough to leave a mark like that.

Poor dog.

Why didn't I think of that?
Because I am clueless.

MomPerson to Nigel, Llewis, Conley and Doc.
