Dear Gracie,
  I am glad your mom will be home soon, and I think it must be a great comfort to have your own fort in which to hide during scary times.
  we used to have a kitty brother, who is now at the Bridge. Our kitty brother, Lynx, didn't like one of the grown two leggers in the family. when the two legger would come to visit for a week at Christmas time, Lynx would move out into the fenced yard and refuse to come in, even if it was pouring rain. So our mom built him a kitty shelter in the garden and served Lynx all his meals there. Every year on day the two legger left, Lynx would move back into the house. I don't know why Lynx didn't like that two legger--she's always seemed okay to me-- but Lynx was a cat of strong opinions. so I think having a fort is good for all kinds of occasions.
