[Dailydrool] Ruptured Disc

Hi : ),

Our boy basset Vinny just ruptured a disc; this is the first time. It came 
on all of a sudden, we went to the ER where he was diagnosed and give a 
course of steroids, pain meds and instructions for the next few weeks.

I was hoping if anyone had experience taking care of a basset with a 
ruptured disc that they could give me a bit of advice : ). How do you get 
the pup out to the bathroom without causing pain? Is it better to use a 
harness or leash when moving the dog? And when the therapy is done what is 
the best way to give my basset boy exercise-he loves walks at the local park 
but strains at his leash frequently and at times with a pretty good amount 
of force?
