[Dailydrool] Only in a basset house

Hi all, clueless momPerson here,

this could only happen in a home with bassets.  No where else.

I was relaxing in a lounger outside drinking an after dinner coffee when I happened to glance through the sliding glass door into the kitchen.  I leapt from my seat shouting NO!  Get DOWN off of that kitchen table!  Get your snooter OUT of that wine glass.  No!  Down!!!  

I charged inisde, grabbed the wine glass and set it on the counter, grabbed the cookie jar and lured him down, handed out cookies ...... all the while my teenage daughters were bickering from the other end of the house "I'm not getting him down, YOU get him down, I got him down the last time why should I have to get him down?"  "YOU say he's your dog, if he's your dog YOU get him down ...."  My husband sinply chuckled

Such as it is apparently this is the new normal.

More later from the clueless momPerson who remembers when all the dog were labs and nothing like this ever happened then I tell you, there was nothing that even remotely resembled the constant pandamonium that is the new normal.  These bassets are lucky they are so cute.  And so sweet.  When they want to be.  Very lucky.
