I am sorry Maggie has pancreatitis so very bad.  I have had lots of hounds
with it, and only lost one to it.  It can be deadly and many people never
realize it until you get there with one of your own.   
I have had to syringe a few hounds to get them back to eating, and sometimes
for a few weeks.  If you go that route with her,  make sure to get Science
Diet ID or WD, or whatever the vet would recommend for her.  WD works well
for us.   I just put it in a blender and add some water to mix up the whole
can.  I do not make it very soupy, just think enough to be able to get it
through a syringe...get one from your vet for this, they have some large
ones.  Keep track of how much as it is good to make sure she is getting
enough calories.  
Of course if she is throwing it up, nit good.  But sometimes they sort of
loose their appetite when they have hurt so much and do not want to eat
easily.    So you have to help give them a jump start.
