[Dailydrool] Drool for Rooney's back please

I noticed a reluctance to go up a step on Wednesday and a general attitude of something wrong.  Took him to the vet two hours later, by which time his back end was wobbling when he walked.  Steroid injection and kept overnight.  Completely down in the rear next morning.  So we collected him and took him to an orthopaedic specialist for MRI and surgery last night.  They removed lots of "matter" from around two disks but are hopeful the spinal chord looked good.  Also because the surgery was done fast, it increases his chances.
 
Roo is a big hound - powerful shoulders in particular - weighing around 80 - 90 lbs.  I have heard great things about the "hold 'em up" harness.  Anyone have a used one around?  Please email degrove at tcd.ie.  I hope we will need one.
 
Sophie the half basset is missing him terribly - she smelt me all over yesterday when I came home.
