[Dailydrool] A morning bath

As told by Miss Mulligan.

This morning on our morning constitutional, Guinness and I were both good
bassets.  We did our business rather quickly and let the "old ones"
MacKenzie and Gallagher keep up.  Guinness and I were reindeer bassets for
the Dad-person.  He was overly attentive to our behavior most of the walk,
however along came a neighbor, with his not so friendly small dog.  While
Dad-person was distracted, talking to the person on the other end of the
leash, Guinness and I spotted a wonder aromatic pile of poo!  Yes, poo!
 Squishy poo!  We both flopped down and did a graceful roll (and roll, and
roll), covering our necks, chests, ears, feet and legs in the lovely aroma.
 I just love "Eau de Poo-Fume".  Then Momma caught up and screamed "They
are rolling in Poo".  Then the Dad-person pulled our leashes and we went
off home, with a divine smell wafting from us.
When we got home, Momma let MacKenzie and Gallagher back on the front
porch.  She made us go to the driveway.  Dad-person came out with a bucket
of funny smelling water.  Uh-oh, bath time.  We got rubbed and scrubbed and
rinsed off with the hose.  The water was lovely, not being too cold. We
shook ourselves, got a little rubbing with the towels and went back in the
house.  Air drying is best accomplished by swift running around every room
of the house, multiple times of course, jumping on furniture and rolling on
all rug surfaces.  Guinness and I raced through the house, and I was the
fastest.  Momma caught us and gave us more towel rubbing and took off our
collars.
Breakfast is coming and then I think I'll take a nice nap!
