Are there other IBD (not IBS) dogs out there? Inflammatory bowel disease, not Irritable bowel syndrome. AKA ulcerative colitis or Crohn's Disease. Chris and Jackie, I think you each have one. I have lots of Bo's very expensive, specially compounded in New Jersey and express mailed to us, miracle drug, Budesonide (Entocort) left. BUdesonide is a steroidal drug that only dissolves in the intestines, not the stomach, and thereby avoids most of the systemic side effects of other steroids (but of course only works specifically for intestinal ulcers (vs. stomach). No one should ever use a drug unless it is cleared by their own vet first. this drug was developed for humans with Crohn's or ulcerative colitis, which is why it needs to be specially compounded for dogs at lower doses. I have both 2 mg. and 1 mg. capsules. (Humans start at 3 mg.) This medicine kept Bo stable for five years after he almost died from the ulcerative colitis. we discovered it through specialist consultations by our vet with his vet school mentors in Colorado. it feels like a crime to me to just throw it out. So, please, any of you with IBD dogs, ask your vets. I will send you Bo's supply for free. I think Bo would be pleased thathis special needs items are going out to help other hounds. (I've mailed out 7 diaper jump suits with diaper packs so. If anyone else is in need, I have two really scroungy ones left that I could mend which would last a little while. thank you again, everyone, for all your support. Val
