[Dailydrool] Food for Bugsey

OMG! It never occurred to me that finding a new food for Bugsey to eat was
going to be such a nightmare! When did they start putting peas in
absolutely everything?! It has been in the grain-free diets for a very long
time. Yesterday when I was looking for food, I found it in the grain diets
as well. I also find it frustrating how many lines of dog food now have
what they call limited ingredient foods, but you look at the ingredients,
and they aren't.

I like the concept of adding fruits and veggies to the diet, but I have one
dog who is allergic to carrots and another allergic to peas. So in many
ways it is just easier for me to add the veggies and fruits myself. I was
hoping to find a Natural Balance LID that I could feed Bugsey. Ha! They are
down to only one diet without potatoes. It is the lamb and rice that
Beauford eats. The whole purpose of switching foods was to get Bugsey off
the red meat. Oh well. I had to go to multiple pet stores, but I managed to
find a Wellness Complete that is fish based (Bugsey's favorite meat). It
doesn't have any oatmeal, peas, potatoes, or eggs in it. Of course you
don't find wheat and corn in the "better" foods. So we are happy for now. I
also found a good supply of meat treats for the crew at decent prices.

I realize probably 90% of you don't have these issues and don't care, but
those of you with allergy dogs can appreciate the wild adventure yesterday.
I think my crew is very lucky that I have multiple food allergies as well,
so I understand. I just get so tired of having to read the labels very
carefully for everything I stick in the cart. It really slows down the
shopping process.

Jennifer with Beauford (I cause my mommy lots of grief with my allergies),
Bugsey (I also cause my mommy lots of grief), and Browyn the Fairy Princess
(I am the easy one, I am only allergic to chicken and corn and Beauford
can't eat chicken and no one can eat corn)
