[Dailydrool] Starving a Hound

Once many years ago when I was still very naive I free fed my dogs out of
one bowl. One of them developed allergies and so everyone's food had to
change. The queen at the time, Bubbles, refused to eat the new food. I
called the vet. He said, "let her starve. If she doesn't eat after four
days call me. By the way, don't think because you can starve a dog, you can
do the same with a cat. A cat will starve itself and will result in big
problems." So, I waited and called on day 3. He said to wait one more day.
She ate. Soon after that we acquired a new puppy that had NO clue how to
regulate how much she ate. We picked up the food and have had proper meal
times ever since. It is real handy when you really know how much food each
dog is really eating when things go wrong.

Jennifer with Beauford (I really don't like to eat in the new house),
Bugsey (I took advantage of the situation and now I have to eat in the
entrance way where I can't see anyone else), and Browyn the Fairy Princess
(I am so glad I don't have to protect my food from the bossy pig)
