My two will do the same thing when we go for walks, but it's opposite of
what you would think. Quincy, the 4-year-old, will mozie along, stopping to
sniff, go a different direction, pee, etc. And Cleo, the 14-year-old, bolts
out of the house like a puppy. Sometimes she will literally pull me around
the block and she will only stop for an occasional sniff or pee/poo. Quincy
is a very rude boy and he will nudge Cleo off the area that she's walking
in so he can have that spot. So I end up with a lot me stuck in the middle
with a basset going different directions at the end of their leashes. And
if they both spot a dog, they they act like dorks and I get embarrassed,
especially if the other person walking their dog has a calm & quiet dog.
Cleo is not so bad but Quincy needs some more training! I think the brown
truck with his brains took a slow boat around the world.
