[Dailydrool] license renewal

Nearly 20 years ago, we lived in NH and received a renewal notice each year
for dog licenses.  There is a fine if you do not renew on time.  One year I
didn't get a renewal notice.  I went down to the town hall to renew to
avoid any fine.  Our town clerk was just the nicest lady.  She told me that
she figured that our dog was so old that he might have died and she didn't
want to upset me.  He was almost 14.  She was delighted to hear that he was
still alive.
