I haven't seen the show but we have bassets and bloodhounds in our pack.  I honestly think the biggest difference is height.  The Bloodhounds can counter cruise with greater ease. Both bassets and bloodhounds play together.  The bloodhounds getting " down" to the basset level.  They share toys very well. Depending on what's inspiring them..they all drool plenty. The bloodhounds can stand up and kiss me on the face but if you get low the bassets do as good a job with kissing. Gibson the bloodhound pup (11 months) is very talkative. Pippa is not.  Rudy, current basset, is talkative.  Lilygurl and Phoebe (bassets) did a classic job with the 'look'.

If there is one thing that tops the list , I would have to say it's the " look ". Nobody does it like a basset. Pw. Lilygurl owned it.  You could feel her " look " in the dark. You could feel it boring into your back if she was somewhere behind you, in another room, or twenty feet down a hallway. She owned it.

I also think the bloodhounds think about a subject and act quickly whereas a basset often "thinks" about it for a very looong time!   Thinking...thinking...thinking....zzzzzzz(still thinking)!
