[Dailydrool] K9 Officer in Little Rock Dies from Heat Exhaustion

I don't know if you've seen this on the news but  yesterday, a beautiful 
German Shepard, who was a member of the Little Rock  Police Department, died 
from heat exhaustion after chasing a suspect down.   They took Titus to the 
vet but nothing could be done to save him.  There's  been extensive news 
coverage and this dog was responsible for many arrests over  his three years of 
service.  

Titus is now At The Bridge, sleeping  with the angels.

Please watch your dogs (and other animals) when it's  hot.  It doesn't take 
long for a dog to overheat and I've always felt that  Bassets were 
particularly susceptible to heat exhaustion.
