[Dailydrool] Peanut butter

I have always found the ingredient lists of the major peanut butter brands a bit dubious, and I prefer natural peanut butter both for simplicity and taste. The ingredient list contains one item: peanuts. Better for me, and, of course, for the hound.


I buy the Krema brand, though there are plenty of others available. 


The oil in natural peanut butter separates, so when you open a new jar, you’ll need to stir the contents up to blend the oil back in. There are devices that help with this. I have one called “Grandpa Witmer’s Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Mixer” that does an excellent job. You can order them online. Once you’ve blended the oil back in, the oil won’t re-separate if you store the natural peanut butter in the refrigerator. 


Natural peanut butter is a bit more expensive (not outrageously so), but I consider it an expense worth making.
