Melissa

I highly recommend Hillside Animal Hospital. Hounds Haven Basset Rescue
uses them for their foster dogs in St. Louis. (GABR used to use them back
when I was a foster home for them). In all my years with Hillside, I have
never felt that they were just in practice to make money. Dr. Ed has been
generous with rescue organizations. I adopted my cats through Hillside.
The neutering and first round of shots were courtesy of Hillside.

When Dexter was having anal gland problems, the vet suggested perhaps
having his anal glands removed eventually. Before doing that, I gave Dexter
unflavored Metamucil daily (1-2 tablespoons). That helped his anal glands
to the point that surgery wasn't needed. Also keep in mind that anal gland
issues can be related to allergies.
