Elizabeth,

It's a brave and terrible thing we do...letting our hounds go. It is also a loving and scary thing. It is everything good and bad about life's journey with a beloved hound wrapped up into a big ball of emotion. I'm sorry, sorry, sorry for everything EXCEPT your love for Elsinore and the miles of memories y'all made together.

Our Elsinore Basset.

Came to us on March 27, 2004, enthusiastic and ready to take charge of things.

Went on ahead of us on July 16, 2015, tired and ready to be in the great hereafter.

Her death was peaceful. She was with those she loved and who love her.

Young Charlie was with her to the end, including the drive to the crematorium with her body, and seems to be doing all right so far.

It’s going to take some time to get used to the stillness and quiet Elsinore's death has brought.

Thank you, Basset Hound Rescue of Alabama for entrusting her to us. There will be only one Elsinore like her, and Ken and I were the ones lucky enough to get her.

Elizabeth
