Hi All, We are walking before 9am in this heat! This morning the sun was
so strong before 9!! Made me sick! Nausea and HA!!

Yes, I use the Dap dispensers. One in the bedroom and one in the family
room between 2 dog beds. It helps with thunderstorms! I also have the DAP
collar for Tilly. The one in the family room is near the treat jar, and I
think helps with Harvey going after Phoebe's treat. He goes right for her
mouth!

I have a problem with aggression in Harvey, the 5 yr old bassador which
is unexplained. He goes after Phoebe, 6 yr old half sister lab, for no
reason during treats and also when they are running the fence if someone is
walking down the street. Harvey starts barking, getting excited and Phoebe
can be near him also barking at someone going down the street and Harvey
will go for Phoebe's mouth, growling! Harvey and Tilly both are food
aggressive, so I have to separate them to feed them. Makes it tricky for
the dog sitter to feed. But she learned!

Harvey NEVER goes after Tilly, 8 yr old basset! This does not happen
daily, sometimes a month will go by and I will not see this behavior in
Harvey. Then all of a sudden, It will come back and happen several times
in one day. Phoebe tucks her tail under and cows down. I HATE that!!
Yet, he has never hurt her physically. They run outside and play together
like best friends most of the time. I have not tried putting the DAP collar
on Harvey. Harvey was neutered at one year! I would have to keep the DAP
collar on Harvey every day, all day!! I guess I could try!

Harvey is a licker!! Licks everyone who comes to visit plus he licks DH
ALL THE TIME!! I'm thinking he may be getting Testosterone from DH!! Maybe
at times it peaks in him! Explaining the irregular behavior!

I had a vibrator "no Bark" collar for Harvey and used it to walk him to
help him listen to me better, especially when another dog approached on
walks. It did help. I showed it to my vet and she did not like the way it
had to be put on so tightly against the neck area. She thought it could
damage the sensitive tissue. So I stopped using it. It helped the barking
at the fence. But I could not leave it on all day. Never tried the shocker
collar!

I am concerned about Phoebe feeling "on guard" all the time. Never knowing
when Harvey will go after her. So, I understand a little of what you are
going through with Conley, Bev, but not the seriousness of the attacks.
Sometimes Phoebe will hide in a closet or in a crate when treats are given
out or if Harvey has recently gone after her outside, Phoebe will refuse to
go out the next time I let dogs outside.

At one period of time, Harvey would go after Phoebe when I let them back
inside during last outs at night, around 9 or 10 pm, when I gave treats as
they came in the door. We always give treats as each dog comes inside from
the dog area. Harvey being the commander, always looking for a treat in
your hand or he won't come inside! I have started letting Phoebe and Tilly
inside first, closing the door, giving them their treats, then opening the
door for Harvey, giving him his treat. I guess in a sense that is
encouraging him to be in control. But it stopped the attacks.

The things we do to accommodate 3 dogs!! Most people would not understand
WHY we do it!! Only the real dog lovers (on the Drool) understand!!

Tilly HAS to go through the doorway before Harvey. When I open the door,
not liking to leave it open, too many snakes around, there is a fight if
Tilly and Harvey are alone at the door. Phoebe and Tilly can come in
together, then Harvey separate.

I did have a black snake inside the house for 3+ months last year. It hid
in a broom closet next to the hallway bathroom, probably getting water from
the commode at night. It came out one day when the dogs were at play day
getting nails done. We caught it with one of those grabber, long handled
things!

Sorry to ramble. Know the droolers all can relate!! That helps. Sue to the
Triplets Tilly - the Alpha

Phoebe - the sweetest, most precious dog we have ever had

Harvey - the Alpha wanna-be
