[Dailydrool] Insurance

The late Commander Bo was insured with VPI and we had a good experience with them. Most years we saved money as his bills were higher then what the insurance premiums cost, and the company paid promptly. But then the commander was quite ill the last five years of his life with ulcerative colitis, numerous hernias secondary to the IBD, and then doggie dementia. I don't recall how much the premiums were, but do recall that they increased with each year of age and were not cheap. However, VPI refused to insure our other two animals for silly reasons back when we got the insurance. (The cat was too old; there was a note in Harley's chart that his balls were unusually large). This turned out fine For us as both of these animals were quite healthy the rest of their lives (until Harley's current cancer at age twelve). Val vlbzwick at yahoo.com
