buster brown initially was named buddy.  it wasn't his original name.  he wasn't a buddy either.  during the drive home (he was only supposed to be a foster...my only failure and it took about 5 minutes) i had forgotten his name, and decided his new one was buster brown basset hound.  no idea why, it just sounded good.  he didn't seem to care.  now it has morphed into:  demon beast, you little bastard you, butter bean, & some others.  seriously, he answers to demon beast.  if you knew him, you would understand.  it's been 8 yrs come april fools day ..so appropriate and a wild ride.
now, sally, she was called maxine by her foster mother.  i knew my next girl would be called "sally" after the dog in the "sally" books by the late stephen huneck.  only he was still alive back then.  i had met him & liked him and the dog chapel, etc.  so she was destined to be sally.  having met sally & learned she is intellectually challenged (as in her theme song is "if i only had a brain) it was changed to sally who.  there is a page in one of the books where sally meets an owl & she says, my name is sally, what's yours?  who.  sally.  who.  goes on for a few pages.  she also gets called the dopey princess.
missy lowla ATB arrived as lola as a foster.  she quickly morphed into lowla because she had way more personality than just 4 letters.  than it became lowla bean.  missy lowla well because we are polite here and she was the queen.
4 weeks into treatment buster is holding his own.  he goes for a follow up next week.  cross those paws.  some days he sounds like he stands on the deck smoking camels, others he races around...boy is going to make me crazy!
