[Dailydrool] Bassets and names, a great thread

We seldom post these days but this thread has been fun, sooooooo....

Our first hound Annie was a private owner surrender and she came with her name as a one year old. We called her a multitude of things, among them Annie Fannie Sugar Mae. She was with us until she was nearly 16 and was known by then as Senior Pw. Annie on the DD.

Our second basset was surrendered to GABR as Pokey. She was so not Pokey! We tried to go with a similar O-E sound and settled on Zoey. Later dubbed Pw. Zoey. Our neighbors (also a coworker of Lynn's ) were expecting twins. They had always wanted to use the name Zoey and asked if we were OK with that. The twins are Zoey and Lucy and still our neighbors. So you may know where this is headed. Zoeydog was with us until past her 14th birthday. 

Our third hound girl is Lucy. She was a stray and found her way to Hounds Haven Basset Rescue with an assigned name. She quickly took to Lucy and it fits her well. The girls were very excited about the symmetry of it all.
