[Dailydrool] the honeymoon is over

Mariah has been with us a month now--our honeymoon period. Now she feels confident that  she is here to stay, she has turned into a stealthy Mariah Naughty-Dog. Usually she is right with us, but if she is not and the house is quiet, it is absolutely certain that she is up to something naughty and hiding it. the naughties usually involve chewing to pieces a glove or slipper in a back room on my bed, enjoying some sort of purloined food item out of sight, or leaving a puddle of pee in a dark bathroom or next to Bill's bed instead of going outside. Never ever within sight of the humans. Starting tonight, we have transformed my bedroom into a large dog crate to discourage nighttime peeing which has only just started to be a problem. Previously she would go out as Mila does if nature calls before morning. (there is a dog door to a fenced yard). My bedroom has just enough space for my bed and two dog beds with the door closed. Very cozy. I am counting on the dogs to wake me if they need to go out. Not quite sure how to approach the other stealth peeing. I am hoping it is only because we have been having so much rain lately and both dogs think they are made of sugar. i walk them twice a day and they have 24/7 access to the yard. any suggestions are welcome. didn't Gracie do this at first too? aloha from Val of Hawaii with Mila and Mariah Naughty-Dog.
