[Dailydrool] Not Cushings - Gallagher

I heard back from the Vet today about all of Gallagher's blood work.  The
end result - - he's a healthy nearly 8 year old boy.  All blood levels are
normal.  He is still begging, (barking, whining, staring with deep brown
sad eyes) for food, constantly.  Apparently he just thinks he's thin
enough.  The vet is very happy with his weight loss.  You can see his ribs
a bit now.  He's gone from 91 lbs. to 82 in a year and a half.  We changed
foods, and measure out the prescribed 1 cup of very low calorie food mixed
with yogurt (2 x day) I'm sure most people will be shocked by his "svelte"
82 lbs, but he is a BIG basset.  He's tall, long, huge paws and 12" ears
that look proportionally right.  I was concerned with all his snacking.
The vet is happy with his weight.  Also, the mass on his side is fatty
tissue.  So big sigh of relief in this house. Just in case, he'll be
monitored to see if this is the beginning of something that isn't showing
up in blood work yet.
Guinness, on the other hand, eats the same food, the same snacks and has
put on 8 lbs.  He is quite honestly a "fatty" right now.  He's not as tall
or long as Gallagher and now weighs 2 lbs. more.
