My 2 cents:  Our wonderful vet told me that bladder/kidney stones can cause recurring infections. The stones are very jagged and irregular, and bacteria can survive in the crevices of the stones. So even if you treat the problem, the underlying cause is there until you remove the stones. It seemed to make sense to me.   Gigi's uti was cured with no recurrence, so I guess she didn't have stones. 

Just wondering:  why don't we see people's emails on the Drool anymore?  Sometimes I like to respond off list. Not complaining though!
