[Dailydrool] Finding a breeder

 Hello! I've been a member of the DD for a long time but rarely post. Recently we lost my 13.5 year old baby, Lily, and now with an empty home my husband and I would like to get a puppy. Are there any breeders in the southeast that you all would recommend? 
Or are there certain characteristics that we should be looking for in a breeder? We were looking at Davis' Southern Bassets today but I thought I should check in with the experts :) My parents bought Lily for me when I was a teenager so I don't really have very much experience. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
