[Dailydrool] Latest on Bailey (Friday night)

The surgeon called this morning to say that Bailey was doing wonderfully
and that she would be surprised if, when we go back in two weeks to have
her staples removed, Bailey wasn't already walking!

I went to visit her this afternoon and she's looking amazing. Thursday she
probably only had control of the front half of her body, today she had
control up to her butt. She was wagging her tail and responded when I
tickled her back pawsies!

She's coming home tomorrow (Saturday) morning. As was suggested via this
list, I purchased a Help 'Em Up harness for her along with its walking
handle. I've also purchased a large FreshPatch to put out on the balcony. I
live in a second floor apartment, so my hope is that this will keep us from
needing to go outside (and use the stairs) until I have to take her in for
her follow up.

If people have experience using a Help 'Em Up with a basset, please be in
touch. The rehab specialists will be showing me how to use it on her when I
pick her up, but I'm horribly afraid I'm going to do something to hurt her
so I'm open to any and all advice. (Those screams she let out when her disk
blew are ingrained in my mind.)
