Another common reason for eczema on the chin in dogs are plastic bowls. Tiny scratches in plastic harbor bacteria that you can’t wash away- and they in turn cause problems. Not that our hounds need another thing to cause itchy chins… usually their wet slobbery jowls are enough cause. Your best bet is high grade stainless steel, ceramic or glass bowls for feeding and water. Wash bowls in hot soapy water at least once daily.
