I haven't been a Drool member as long as a lot of people but we've been
here for over ten years. I love the moderators. I do remember the days of
"flaming" and was the recipient a couple of time. I grew to love Debbie
Winchester because she was the voice of reason for me and would advise me
to let the other members "take care of it" and they always did. Marlene, I
miss your posts and hope you stay and visit for a while.

Jackie, I feel your pain with your seniors. Jersey was our oldest Houndette
and left us three years ago but our other three Houndettes are all about
the same age. Shadow is now eleven, Ginger turned ten in December and Suzy
will be ten this week. The DH and I look at each other every now and then
and ask each other what were we thinking of keeping three fosters who were
all the same age? I know we're going to have several heartbreaks back to
back at some point but we all do what we have to do. I'm sorry your seniors
are unwell. We have been very fortunate with our girls and their health is
pretty stable. Shadow has a very large solid mass on her shoulder (we're
measuring it in inches now, not centimeters) that our vet has suggested we
leave alone since we would not opt for chemo. She is happy and it doesn't
seem to bother her at this point so we're just watching and waiting. Ginger
is on Prozac and it is helping to keep her aggression to a dull roar. She
still screams at the others occasionally but hasn't gone into attack mode
since she tried to kill Toby before Christmas. I am grateful that it's
working because she was headed down a very bad path. Suzy Q Basset is just
as ditzy as ever. She is such a sweet girl and is so undemanding. She just
goes with the flow. Sometimes I feel bad that we brought Toby home to a
bunch of old ladies but I do think he helps keep them young and certainly
does his best to keep them active. They will play with him but will
definitely let him know when they've had enough. Fortunately both my
daughters have young dogs who spend a fair amount of time here so he does
get to play quite a bit. It's hard to believe but he will be three at the
end of this month! Where does time go?!?

I do love the digest and read all of them but, like a lot of people, I
really enjoy Facebook and the fact that we can see pictures of each other's
hounds. I surely would hate to see the DD go away! I will try and be a more
active participant and not focus so much on fbook.

Heart healing and get well drool is being slung to all in need.
