Millie's sleeping habits are driving me nuts lately. It has been over a
week now that when she goes upstairs for the night she gets up after a
while and starts this nervous panting and some pacing. I had given her
Diazepam, which helped, but is not a long term solution. Took her to the vet and
she was given a prescription of Fluoxatine which seemed to make maters
worse and has affected her appetite. I stopped it last night. The last two
nights when she gets up and her panting gets to me I have taken her back
downstairs and within 5 to 10 minutes, she stops and goes to sleep for the
night. Two nights isn't enough time to form a real conclusion, but it seems
to make a difference. She has slept up there for 3 years, so I do not
know what is what. The weird thing is that she readily goes up at night. I
plan on doing the same tonight, and plan on letting her go to sleep down
here and then go up myself and see if she stays down. I hope I can find
a solution without reverting to pills. If I need them, I will try to get
something other than the Fluozatine.
