Karen,

As someone who has suffered from vertigo and dizziness due to 
a sudden and major hearing loss, I am guessing that it may make
Amelia nauseous to look down.  You might try an elevated bowl or
try setting her bowl on some books or a stool or something so she 
doesn’t have to lower her head too much.   And you might ask the 
vet about it - maybe some more anti-nausea meds would help.
