[Dailydrool] Daisy, and "is it time?"

Oh, my heart aches that you're going through this. So many of us have been there, and there's no easy answer, no right answer. Disclaimer -- what I'm about to say is from my experience, so it could be right for you, it could be wrong.

First. Most important. Listen to your heart, and trust your girl.

Before I had to make the decision the first time, people always told me, "you'll know when it's time." I didn't know what that meant. Then I faced it, and I saw exactly what they meant. YOU WILL KNOW. If you have to ask -- it's not time. My Duchess made it to 17, with all her lumps and bumps and groans she was still utterly herself, utterly bassety ( I do know what you mean). Then one night she wasn't, and she told me clearly.

You know your girl. You know when she's happy. You'll know when she's sick or in pain. It could be the tooth that's keeping her from eating. The vet will make things more clear. But don't listen completely to him/her, listen to Daisy and your heart.

And whatever you decide, don't ever second guess yourself in the future. Know that although you feel scared and anxious now, you will make the right decision because it's from love. And your girl will always know that, how deeply she is loved.

You're both in my heart.

Fondly,
Beth H. (Duchess ATB)
