Hi Odie's mom, Hi everyone!

I found it interesting that Odie, your 4th basset is the best behaved one. Did you train him differently or he is just a very good boy?
I find well behaved Bassets a very cute thing. And Bassets who are not well behaved are the cutest thing ever. Well, I just find them all cute.
Need a basset fix!
Miss you guys. Now I am back reading the drool.
I am starting to organize my budget in order to be able to get a dog. It scares me all the responsibility of owning a dog by myself, I mean, mostly the health expenses.
But then, there are the health insurances, and this I can afford. It is a matter of finding a good plan and a compassionate vet, I guess ( I hope! ).
It cannot be possible that every person who has a dog has lots of dollar bills coming out of their pockets. Do you guys agree? Do you understand my fear?
Once I had a colleague at work that found an absurd that we payed for the vet to cut Violeta's nails on an occasion when she got really scared of nail cutting rituals, and this lady opinion was, when a dog get expensive sick, don't spend money with "it".
I find it an absurd, but each one of us have to respect each other's opinions if we want to live in peace.
I don't want to create any debate here. I just want to know what do you guys who have lots of experience with vets, think about pets (dogs) insurance, and do you guys have any idea of how much do we spend with a vet per year?
I was afraid of asking this and being judged and all that stuff. But it was something that came to my mind and I would like to have an idea about it.
It will be the first time I will have a dog that will be only mine. Which is good ( nobody will take him from me), but I get all the expenses alone.
So, I will start checking with the lady who trains working dogs ( I need an emotional support dog). The important is to start the process.
Any advice will be appreciated.
I hope all of you guys and furkids are healthy and recuperating from those stuff they sometimes have. Lots of drool and love to those who need,

Virginia ( mom of Violeta and Xaxa, both in heaven now)
