Hello Droolers. I am appealing for ideas. First, a little background.About 18 months ago I received a call from a man who had bought a year-old basset boy. He said the boy was vicious. He was so dangerous his wife was hiding in the bedroom and wouldn't come out. It turned out this was the lad's third home (at least) in a year and this middle aged couple had recently lost their elderly German Shepherd. I knew it would be impossible to rehome the hound if he was labelled vicious and as a few bits of the story didn't quite hang together, I wanted to give him a chance. To cut a very long story short I arranged for a behavioral therapist, training sessions and was at the end of the phone/email for months. All the time I had a safe house ready, just in case.Last Christmas they proudly told me they were making great progress. This Christmas they told me they'd won an award for making the biggest effort of all owners at their training club - even if their boy hadn't passed Bronze level training. This was a story that worked out better I could have hoped. Now they have come back with another question. When they walk together, the hound boy is as happy as Larry, running around off-lead for miles. However, if one of them takes him out alone he won't walk beyond the end of the road. Because they work different hours, they have to walk him separately during the week and fear he is not getting enough exercise, and as we know, a tired baby basset boy is more likely to be a  good baby basset boy. They want ideas on how they can convince him to walk with either of them alone. Has anyone got any ideas? I really want this boy to stay safe.
