'Tis I, the warrior princess Mariah.

The siege of Bassetfell has ended. We are victorious.  A message came this afternoon by phone.  I did not overhear the conversation but surely the news must have been of powerful armies setting forth from the North--Chicago--on their way to assist us under the leadership of Lady Merta Lou.  I can think of no other explanation. King Dad took the call.  An infusion of courage. Not long after the phone call, our valiant King Dad and Queen Mom drove off the barbarians (literally, in two cars, one with air crates, and one with monster dogs).  They returned empty handed and triumphant.  I understand that the barbarians are now in the belly of a huge silver dragon winging its way across the seas to San Francisco.  Long live Bassetfell.  PW.
