I see you already have received some good options already.
I too, would google along the route I would be taking.
I am going to present a different idea to you and I hope folks do not think
me too odd.

I have had a very bad experience with a pet cremation service here in
Orlando. I had our 7 lb. kitty, Butch cremated and upon receiving his
cremains, they weighed more than some of the bassets we had sent in for
cremation. I was told maybe he was big boned, and I told the vet, I was not
an idiot and if she believed that, we needed to part ways. We did.
So, consequently, I have questions about all the pets I ever had cremated at
that place. At moments, it hurts so bad to think I may not have my kids
with me, it is all I can do to push through when those thoughts come up.
If I were in this situation, I would get a large cooler to take with me and
put my baby in it, along with ice, until I got to a crematory that I felt
good about.
The guy I use now, actually builds crematories for people and animal
shelters. He knows far more than you really want to know. But he does pet
cremation as a "service". He knows what can go on in some places,
specifically the one here in Orlando (he actually built that one too).
And I know for a fact all his cremations are private, and you get your pet
back. He will let you be there the whole time if you desire too. Most do
not, but he allows it to help people feel ok, or more ok.

So, that is an option for you, but bear in mind it comes from a place of not
trusting large cremation companies.
