Got the results back from Mich. State. Mast cell tumor. Bummer!Good news , it is well differentiated and most likely a grade 1 or 2. Pathologist said it is the slow growing type, and surgery should be curative!Our vet has lined him up for surgery on July 19th, as she is very very busy. Both her and the Doctor at Mich. State say this should be fine for Edgar. Plus we will be out of town July 5th to the 11th. We  were ready to postpone, but the vet said no need to do so.  So we figure the glass is half full, and were given a present by catching it so soon. Vet said it helps when I do his nails and trim the foot hair every Sunday. That's  when I roll him around and check for the dreaded lumps and bumps!For me the worse thing is knocking him out for the surgery! I think it adds age to them when they go through these procedures. More so the older they get. So not the best, but the better end of bad news!
