[Dailydrool] Afraid of rain

I have a dog that is afraid of rain--not thunderstorms in particular, which are quite infrequent here--just rain.  When it rains, she paces and will not leave my side. Nor will she go out under an umbrella only, fearful of melting like sugar, like California girls Mariah and Gracie.  She won't go out. Period. fortunately if she has to relieve herself, she will do so on the covered lanai in great haste before retreating inside again.  Ipo, the pitmix.

I can only guess the reasons.  As a hunting dog she may have been chained outdoors.  As a stray she may have seen bad weather.  After her former owner shot herself and died, Ipo was found wet, cold, and shivering under the house.  Who knows.

I am hoping with time, sheltered in a dry and loving home, she'll get over this as she is gradually getting over other fears. anyone else have a dog who is afraid (not just doesn't particularly like) of the rain?
