I'm sad to report that we lost our sweet Gracie Girl yesterday.

She didn't eat her breakfast on Friday and threw up twice, so I took her to
the vet. An xray found a soft-ball sized mass on her spleen. She had
surgery that afternoon to remove the mass.

On Saturday, she ate a little bit, but the vet wanted her to do a little
better before he released her. I went and visited her Sunday afternoon up
there. We walked around a little bit and she ate a bite of homemade bread
I'd brought her (fave treat). Sunday pm the vet checked on her and she was
fine, but Monday am when they came in, she had passed. She was curled up
asleep on her blanket, so I think it was a peaceful death. The vet
suspects a blood clot.

Gigi was "only" 11 years old and had been feeling fine up until last week.
She was the choir director who got our other 3 dogs howling and singing.
She was an independent, beautiful girl who loved walks and just being near
us. We got Gigi from Open Door Animal Sanctuary when she was 11 weeks old,
and she's been a blessing to us ever since.

We will miss her wooo-wooos, and her speckledy markings. She had a white
dash on her back; we always said it was her piggy bank spot to put money in
for college. I can't tell if the other 3 are missing her or not. I
suspect Noodle is.

Darrell and I are grateful to have had such a sweet and special girl in her
lives. I'm sure she was greeted ATB by Jolie, Sophie, my father, and a host
of other friends from the Drool.

Susan,
down to 12 paws now instead of 16
