I declare myself with Team Jennifer on the subject of introverted dogs. Being an introvert myself, I've always chafed at the way extroversion is valued over introversion in our culture. Both character traits can make valuable contributions. However, I hadn't really thought about dogs being pushed toward extroversion. I know it isn't a good thing for a dog to be shy to the point of anxiety (or a person as well), but not all dogs are going to be eager to do the 'meet and greet' or be open to random petting and maybe it's better to be more accepting of that.

So it looks like we have a real homebody in our little Emma. That's going to be fine. She can approach the world at her own speed and on her own terms.
