Hi there, Dale here,
Maybe I can help.  two things:
My mom (may her memory be for blessing) had the water thing licked.  Hot dog soup!  She would take a hot dog and put it in 1 or 2 cups of water and boil it.  Then cool the water.  Your dog will drink the water ..... guaranteed.
Also I use pepcid as an antacid for my dogs ..... works great and doesn't need the water.
