[Dailydrool] Daphne

Poor Daphne. The big problem here is that the urethritis is being caused by
an autoimmune disease. So the treatment is totally different that normal.
We are going through this with Bugsey right now, only I think we are a step
behind you. In his case, he is losing muscle mass and nerve sheath. So,
while some of the symptoms might be the same (fatigue) the treatment is
similar. He did not tolerate the "right" dose of prednisone at all. He
became so depressed that he could barely move. So we cut the dose in half,
but it is NOT stopping the disease process. So he will be going to Auburn
University on Tuesday. In the reading I have done, when prednisone doesn't
work the next step is chemo. To be honest, I am rather scared, but am not
panicking until I learn more. Thanks so much Ann for naming the drug they
will be using on Daphne. They may not give Bugsey the same drug, but I bet
it will be similar. Now I can look it up and learn more about it. Meanwhile
we will be drooling and praying that the treatment works and she feels
better soon.
