There are collars that spray citronella oil, some that only make sound and or vibrate and some that will deliver a little shock after a warning sound. Sort of like touching a 9volt battery. All of them work- different ones work for different dogs. Used properly they are very effective and can certainly improve relations with neighbors or even just residents of a household. Look up different kinds on Amazon and read people’s reviews of their purchase.
There are many ways to stop unwanted barking behavior- but if you aren’t there- then you need something that will work while you are gone. Used properly these types of collars have saved many a sanity as well as being able to keep a dog in the home when otherwise not possible with excessive barking.
